She is originally from South Florida. After college she moved to Vermont and fell in love with New England. She always knew she wanted a career with animals and completed a Masters Degree in Animals and Pubic Policy from Tufts University. She later attended veterinary school starting at St. Georgeâ€™s University and graduated from Louisiana State University.Â After veterinary school\, she completed a Small Animal Rotating Internship at Angell Animal Medicine Center in Boston\, MA where she was awarded the Sharon Drellich Memorial Award for professionalism\, collegiality and compassion. Â In 2021\, Dr Uman was chosen as the DVM360 Veterinary Hero in Emergency Medicine.
