If you have questions about how best to care for your senior pet\, or just want to get some tips on evaluating and enhancing their quality of life\, join us for this webinar! \n \n \nDr. Jennifer Hall was born and raised in Connecticut\, and has lived in Old Lyme for twenty-four years. She graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1996 and served 5 years active duty in the Coast Guard\, separating with a final rank of Lieutenant. She attended Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine from 2004 to 2008\, and started a mobile mixed-animal practice immediately upon graduation. Coastal Valley Veterinary Services has been in operation for over 13 years\, seeing a range of patients from 2-pound kittens to 2\,000-pound oxen! Dr Hall’s family includes two beautiful daughters\, two standard poodles\, two cats\, three goats and lots of plants. And one VERY patient and supportive husband!

SUMMARY:Learn More About Veterinary Care Everywhere (VCE)
DESCRIPTION:Veterinary Care Everywhere (VCE) is a Connecticut-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides low-cost at-home veterinary services for pets of seniors (age 70+)\, veterans (age 60+)and those with physical disabilities (any age). By offering at-home veterinary care\, VCE helps those who may struggle to transport their pet to a traditional veterinary clinic. VCE provides a wide range of affordable in-home services for dogs and cats\, including basic vaccinations\, wellness exams\, and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. \nVCE’s outreach program is the first in the country to specifically address the major factors affecting access to veterinary care for aging and physically vulnerable populations of pet owners. Find out more about VCE’s ground-breaking program\, and how you can get involved! \nDr. Nicole Sabo obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2008. After graduation\, she spent three years of intensive training at specialty and teaching hospitals with a focus on general\, surgery and emergency medicine. Dr. Sabo has been in general practice the last 8 years at traditional veterinary hospitals in New York and Connecticut.

DESCRIPTION:The decision to humanely euthanize a beloved pet is one of the most difficult decisions that a pet owner may face. In this webinar\, Dr. Eva Ceranowicz will discuss how to make that decision and find the right time.  She will also review the euthanasia process and  share some strategies for how to help children cope with the loss. \nDr. Eva Ceranowicz is a Connecticut native\, having grown up in Waterbury. We will briefly discuss each individual parasite\, what they do to our pets\, how we test for them\, how we treat them and most important how we prevent them. \nThe total time of the event is 30 minutes with the first half being the discussion of the topic and the second half will be open for questions and answers. We ask that questions to be topic related. \nThis series is free and brought to you by individual and private donations.
